My first Bears dream

Every summer I start having Bears dreams. Just the other day, sparked by the signing of Tommie Harris, I started talking to my fiancee about what the Bears have done during the offseason, which conversation got my blood going about the football season for the first time in a while, and then I realized there's less than three months until the first regular season game! Ah!

So then that night I had my dream. This dream was about a preseason game, which I think is the first time I've ever dreamt preseason, and it centered on the quarterback position. Grossman started out in the shotgun, and as soon as the ball was hiked to him, a defensive lineman shot right through and he barely launched the ball before getting absolutely drilled; the ball sailed well short of the receiver and into the patiently waiting hands of the DB covering him. I was calling R to explain to her what happened, saying something along the lines of "picking up right where he left off," when I noticed Grossman getting up and rubbing his shoulder kind of gingerly. "Yes!" I thought, "He's hurt! Now they'll have to put Orton in!" On the next play, of course, Urlacher intercepted and ran back for a touchdown, although Urlacher was pixellated and looked kind of like generic white guy from Tecmo Bowl, with super exaggerated muscles and pink skin, and he was short like the dwarf from the Golden Axe. The next thing I saw on TV was a close up of the Bears QB under center, a chubby guy with baby cheeks, and it took me a second to realize that it was Orton--but without his neckbeard! I was horrified! I think the prospect of Orton playing without his beard qualifies this dream as a nightmare...
